Solo Artist
Rick Fink
“Punk Americana” was the ethos for Rick Fink’s former Roots/Rockabilly band and it’s something that he carries into his solo work. Still driven by a DIY work ethic, the gonzo days of crowd surfing and bombast have been replaced by something more personal. A world where the song is king and soulful connection is everything. Rick's sets are still filled with singalongs and joking asides, but with more heart and quiet honesty. Clever wordplay is anchored to beatlesque melodies, subtle and spare. Often stopping midsong to share a thought or observation, Rick treats every audience as if they are sitting in his living room sharing stories and having a laugh. His latest EP, Welcome to the World is available for download and streaming on Bandcamp. CDs are available at shows and upon request. Rick’s first album, The Infinite Now & Then was released in 2019. Rick continues to tour solo throughout the Midwest & regionally. His former band Gas House Gorillas toured regularly across the USA and Europe. Recent shows include The Big Bend Blues Bash in Pomeroy, Ohio, The Bitter End in New York City and house concerts in and around his hometown Brooklyn, NY., as well as places like Michigan and Illinois. "Gritty folk-blues with theatrical flair, beat-poet swagger, and wildly engaging songs full of edge, humor, and raw heart." The Folk Project "In my book, Rick Fink is a triple threat. The man is a great performer, singer and songwriter. One of the most enjoyable experiences I ever had producing and engineering in the studio was when I was working with Rick. The man is spot on and timeless." Quentin Jones Producer "I first contracted Rick Fink to perform with his group The Gas House Gorillas at our local blues festival. His stage antics, energy and charisma made him a fan favorite. What I didn't realize at the time was what a great songwriter Rick is. He still has a great rapport with the crowd, but now his songs and emotions are on full display, and it is a wonder to behold. How rare it is to have an artist that can command a large stage, but also connect personally in a smaller venue." Mark Stonerock Director, Marquette Area Blues Fest
