Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Gruvvy ("Gruvvy," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Gruvvy music streaming and distribution platform, including our websites and applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide.
- Account information — name, email address, username, password, and profile details such as artist name, biography, and regional preferences.
- Artist and payout information — identity and business details, and the tax and banking information required to receive payouts, which is collected and verified through our payment processor.
- Content — the audio recordings, artwork, lyrics, tablature, credits, and metadata you upload.
- Communications — messages you send to us, including support and legal requests.
Information collected automatically.
- Listening and usage data — the tracks you play, minutes listened, playback events (including the interval-based play tracking we use to measure listening), interactions, and preferences. This data is used to operate the Service and to calculate artist earnings.
- Device and technical data — IP address, device and browser type, operating system, identifiers, and log data.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.
Information from third parties.
- Our payment processor and identity-verification and credit-reference sources provide information used to verify identity and enable payouts.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- process subscriptions and calculate and deliver artist payouts based on minutes listened;
- verify identity and prevent fraud, artificial streaming, and abuse;
- personalize content and recommendations, including based on regional preferences;
- communicate with you about your account, transactions, and updates;
- comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations; and
- protect the rights, safety, and security of Gruvvy, our users, and the public.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Payment processing. We share payment and identity information with Stripe to process subscriptions and payouts. Stripe processes this data in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy, and may obtain information from credit agencies and identity-verification sources to verify your identity.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors that host our platform, deliver audio through our content-delivery network, provide analytics, and support customer service, in each case bound to protect the information.
- Other users and the public. Your public profile, artist name, uploaded music, and related credits are visible to other users as part of the Service.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, and safety.
- Business transfers. If Gruvvy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Payment and financial data
Gruvvy does not store full payment card numbers. Subscription payments and artist payouts are handled by Stripe, which collects and safeguards payment and financial data under the Stripe Services Agreement and the Stripe Privacy Policy. When you provide payment or payout information, you are providing it to Stripe as well as to Gruvvy for the purposes described above.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your settings, keep you signed in, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Payout and tax records are retained for the periods required by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also update your account information and communication preferences at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at rufus+legal@gruvvy.com. We will respond as required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Children's privacy

Users under 18 may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
Gruvvy may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law.
