Have you ever seen someone (or something) who looks like a person, but not really... like their human skin is a disguise? If you watch them closely enough, cracks appear in their demeanor... Have you seen their eyes flash with reptilian pupils, then they blink and they have human pupils again? Most monsters are born with human skin... but there are notable interlopers if you're unlucky enough to stumble upon them.
