I wrote this song about a friend who romanticized too much about the world being against them. Which is necessary sometimes, but it can start to negatively impact your spirit if you live in it too much.

Lyrics

[verse]
She folds in the corner to find where she ended
Her Fingers stained black from a page freshly printed
Somehow the story begins as a figment
Of imagination and then with a sentence like
“One day
She woke up planning her escape.
It all fell apart on a Tuesday.
You see, Alice, she knew her own fate.
But Alice got lost in the plot
And lost the glory of finding it out (F, A)

[chorus]
Isn’t it lovely
Isn’t it fun
Finding the ending
And we’re almost done

[verse 2]
She made a villain with no good intentions
The man was transparent no depth to his presence
A cluster of curse words surrounding his mention
But we never learned why his filled with resentment
Like “James stayed
Holed up inside of his headspace
Rethinking lists for his namesake
But we never learn if his pain
Missed the details, skipped the page

[chorus]
Isn’t it lovely
Isn’t it fun
Finding the ending
And we’re almost done

[bridge]
You always tried not to spoil the ending
But you called it all quits at chapter 11
And that’s only halfway
You promised
You’d write it

[ending]
Isn’t it lovely
Isn’t it fun
Finding the ending
