Lyrics

Wish I could superimpose all the bad thoughts in the world and shove them deep into my frontal lobe
I’d like to take them off your shoulders cuz you don’t deserve to hold them anymore
If I could pour out my love
Like a towel being wrung
I’d do anything to fill up your cup
You’ll spill it all on the floor
And I will lay myself out to soak it up

You never wanted to be anything more than someone stuck on the side on the side of the highway.
Sometimes you focus on your life as it crumbles
Sometimes you fill in the cracks in your driveway.
You could drive a thousand miles and drive a million more but the distance never evens the score.
Some people choose to numb the friction with a potion of indifference but it only leaves their future torn

I knew a man who lived alone
The only voice inside his home
Was his own as he’d pray into a void
He left his door open at night
Like he was hoping for a fright, so he could finally see a human form
He’d probably let them take it all
And as they’d drag it ‘cross the yard
He would thank them for their time.
Then he’d wave as they drove off, with a crooked little scoff at his simple solitary life

He never wanted to be anything more
Than a face looking out of the window
Sometimes he’d pull the dandelions from the driveway
Sometimes he’d plant another bulb for his widow
He might buy a thousand seeds but they’ll never meet his needs because the one he loved has left him dry.
Yeah, he’d sit and think at night but the memories never last unless he really tries to keep them alive.

Don’t wait
It’s gone
Don’t wait
It’s gone
